Gonzaga Eastern Point Retreat House

Gonzaga Eastern Point Retreat House is a Jesuit retreat center located in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

Registration for 2027 retreats is now open.

30-Day Retreat:

The full Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius is offered annually in January and July.

Type: 30-Day Retreat

Format: Individual, silent retreat

Dates: Eastern Point offers the 30-Day Retreat twice each year. The 2025/2026 retreat schedule is:

  • Winter 2027 (Jan. 6 - Feb. 9, 2027;  applications due October 1, 2026)

  • Summer 2027 (June 16 - July 20, 2027; applications due March 1, 2027)

Notes: The full, 30-Day Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius is a privileged opportunity to encounter God in a deep and personal way. It is also a serious investment of time and energy, entailing:

  • four or five hours of meditative prayer every day,

  • daily spiritual direction,

  • daily Mass,

  • a commitment to give oneself wholly to the silence and dynamic of the retreat experience.

Each retreat includes an orientation day at the beginning and two days of review at the end. Retreatants are expected to participate for the entire program. Applicants for the Spiritual Exercises must have made several week-long, individually-directed, silent retreats and currently be receiving on-going spiritual direction. As such, we ask those interested in experiencing the 30-Day Retreat at Gonzaga Eastern Point to fill out an extended two-part application.

Because space is limited and the application process lengthy, a preliminary application must be submitted by October 1 for the subsequent "January/February" retreat and by March 1 for the subsequent "June/July" retreat.
