Walking with Creation with Ministerio Hispano Ignaciano
by Sindy Collazo
On Saturday, Oct. 25, around thirty people from various New Jersey communities —Rahway, Jersey City, Kearny, New Brunswick, Allentown, Middlesex, and Clark— as well as from New York, representing Oceanside, participated in the activity “Walking with Creation.”
Participants walked in nature and prayed the Ecological Examen, a spiritual exercise rooted in Ignatian Spirituality that focuses on recognizing God’s presence in creation. The walk included six stations offering opportunities for reflection, meditation, and prayer, inspired by the fourth Universal Apostolic Preference: Caring for Our Common Home.
The journey between stations was done in silence, fostering contemplation and interior listening. The experience concluded with a Spiritual Conversation, during which participants shared the movements and insights they experienced along the way.
The Hispanic Ignatian Ministry of OIS deeply thanks all the communities who made this spiritual experience possible, and especially expresses its gratitude to Alicia Ángeles, coordinator of the Hispanic Ignatian Communities of New Jersey, for her leadership, dedication, and support in organizing this day.
