Listen to Our Newest Podcast: Ignatian Pathways
Welcome to OIS's new podcast, Ignatian Pathways.
Each week, Dave de la Fuente, OIS's Associate Director for Young Adult Ministries will gather voices from across the Ignatian family to share about the many pathways to God that we have all discovered through Ignatian spirituality.
This series is intended for all: those who have practiced the way of Ignatius for years and those just beginning to dip their toes into the waters of Ignatian spirituality.
In this first episode, as "friends in the Lord," our guests share about the ways that Ignatian Spirituality has shown them a way to God, ranging from storytelling to the Examen to the holistic vision of this spiritual tradition. We focus on the idea of "graced histories," of how God is present in the highs and lows of our lives as they unfold. We devote good attention to the tradition of going on retreat, which is common to our graced histories as previous members of Charis Retreats. Retreats, including the 19th annotation, provide space for reflection, which is a habit that we need to practice to grow spiritually. They also provide the best environment for discerning and choosing what is good and life-affirming. Learn more about the meaning of graced histories, retreats, and the best of what Ignatian Spirituality has to offer.
Special thanks to our guests: Jennifer Sawyer, Editor-in-Chief of Busted Halo; Roxanne de la Torre, Pastoral Associate, Father William J. Bergen SJ Office of Ignatian Spirituality and Faith Formation, Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, New York City; Rev. Anthony SooHoo, SJ, Lecturer, Pontifical Biblical Institute, and Pastor of Caravita Community.
