OIS Welcomes Michelle Gomez and Marselys Lucero

The Office of Ignatian Spirituality is pleased to welcome two new staff members: Michelle Gomez to the role of Ignatian Spiritual Direction Initiative Program Coordinator and Marselys Lucero to the role of Via Program Coordinator.

Michelle Gomez began her connection with the Office of Ignatian Spirituality through participation in the former Magis and CURA Programs. She continued her Ignatian formation by training as a spiritual director through Fairfield’s Murphy Center for Ignatian Spirituality. In addition to her work as a spiritual director, she continues her personal efforts to spread Ignatian Spirituality by facilitating parent ministry opportunities for Jesuit School parents and as a program presenter. Above all, her experience with the 19th Annotation has led to a desire to promote the beauty and openness of the Spiritual Exercises and the spiritual fullness they offer.

She lives with her husband in Westchester, NY and has three adult sons.

Michelle may be reached at mgomez@jesuits.org.

Marselys Lucero comes to OIS with a strong theological and pastoral background and experience in both education and spirituality ministries. He knows many of our Jesuit works in the UEA, including a stint working at Regis HS in NYC. What's more, as a former Contemplative Leaders in Action coordinator, Marselys is familiar with OIS and many of the members of our team. He brings professional experience in DEI and serves as the Director of Peace through Justice for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. Marselys lives in Doylestown, PA, with his wife Stephanie Boccuzzi.

Marselys may be reached at mlucero@jesuits.org.

Please join us in welcoming Michelle and Marselys!
